Dr. Edwards is not only an incredible physician, but one of the kindest and most caring human beings I have ever met. For almost three years, she has helped me manage so many different aspects of my health and my life. As a military veteran, I can honestly say I have never felt more heard or understood by a healthcare provider.”
“Dr. Edwards was such a pleasure to work with. She listened, she took her time, she was extremely informative, and really took the time to make sure I felt comfortable in her hands. The response time from her and the Zara Medical team is amazing. Positive experience from start to finish.”
“I really like the experience. It fits my schedule and when I need it. Dr. Edwards is fantastic, knowledgeable and very caring of my needs. She is in touch with the patient and the support system they have is top — always available and following up. Highly recommended.”
“Dr. Edwards is extremely warm and kind, and I put my health and trust in her very capable hands. She came up with a tailored and life-changing game plan for my conditions with a tact I have not seen in ages. Her staff are all so kind and capable as well. They do not make me feel uncomfortable or silly for asking the questions I ask.”
“Absolutely love Dr. Edwards — I am happy she is back in Texas. Not only does she listen to you, but she will tailor your health to the way you want it. She is caring and friendly. She treats you like family, not a patient.”
Most of what sends you to an urgent care or a two-week wait for an appointment fits in a twenty-minute video visit. Here's the short list.
Sinus and ear infections, UTIs, strep, rashes, pink eye, minor injuries, food poisoning, allergic reactions.
New prescriptions and refills sent straight to your pharmacy — including the one that's been "processing" for four days.
Birth control, UTI treatment, menstrual issues, prenatal counseling, and annual GYN visits — virtually.
Depression, anxiety, insomnia, stress management, and ADHD evaluation — with a real treatment plan, not a questionnaire.
Diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, asthma and COPD — ongoing management that actually continues.
Prostate health screening, testosterone evaluation, erectile dysfunction, hair loss, cardiovascular risk, and preventive screenings.
Annual wellness exams, screening guidance, lab interpretation, immunizations, nutrition and lifestyle counseling.
Pick a time on the booking calendar — including same-day and evening slots, seven days a week. No payment needed to book. Our team confirms your visit and handles payment before you're seen.
Join from your kitchen, your car, or your office. Dr. Edwards reviews your history, examines what can be examined, and explains what's actually going on.
Anything you need is sent electronically to the pharmacy you already use. Labs and referrals are ordered the same day if you need them.
No subscription, no concierge fee, no surprise bill after the fact. If we tell you a visit costs $125, it costs $125. Booking is free — our staff confirms your visit and takes payment before your appointment.
Not sure your plan is covered? Text 830-276-2166 and we'll check before you book — so there are no surprises on the day.
Every visit type — urgent, chronic, preventive, women's health, mental health. Same price.
Verified before your visit — you'll know your cost up front.
If you're out of network, pay $125 at the time of your visit and we'll provide a superbill you can submit for possible partial reimbursement. Not sure about your plan? Text 830-276-2166 and we'll check before you book.
The most common assumption about telemedicine is that it stops at the prescription. It doesn't. Here's how the parts that need a physical facility actually work.
Sent electronically to a lab near you the same day. You go in for the draw whenever it suits you — no appointment with us needed first. Results come back to Dr. Edwards and are reviewed with you, not left for you to interpret alone.
X-rays, ultrasounds and MRIs can be ordered and sent to an imaging center in your area, with the radiologist's report reviewed in a follow-up visit. Some studies need a hands-on exam first — you'll be told directly rather than sent for a scan that can't answer the question.
When something needs a cardiologist, dermatologist, endocrinologist or surgeon, you get a referral with the clinical notes already written — so you aren't re-explaining your history from scratch. Where possible, she helps find someone in your network.
Ordering authority and facility requirements vary by state, and some imaging studies require an in-person examination before they can be ordered. If a test or referral needs something this practice can't provide, you'll hear that directly — along with what to do instead.
Refills, records requests, results and scheduling all go through Spruce — a messaging platform built for clinical care. No app required, and no clinical detail sitting in an ordinary text thread.
Messaging is monitored during business hours — it is not a crisis line. Never send clinical details through social media DMs or ordinary email.
Start a secure message in the portal, or text 830-276-2166. Messages are triaged by category, so refills and records requests reach the right place instead of waiting behind everything else.

For the large majority of primary care — infections, prescriptions, chronic disease management, mental health, women's health, lab review — yes. Dr. Edwards is board-certified in family medicine with ten years of clinical practice, and she practices the same medicine over video that she practiced in an exam room. If something needs hands-on evaluation, she'll tell you and help you get it.
Dr. Edwards is currently accepting new patients in California, Texas, New York, and Florida, and is licensed in 24 states overall. You must be physically located in a state where Dr. Edwards is licensed at the time of your visit — that's a legal requirement for telemedicine, not a preference.
$125 flat for every visit type if you're paying out of pocket. If you have BCBS of Texas or an Aetna PPO plan, we're in-network and your normal cost-sharing applies. Medicare, Medicaid, and HMO plans are not accepted at this time.
You don't pay anything to book. After you choose a time, our staff reaches out to confirm your visit, verify your insurance if you have it, and take payment before your appointment — so nothing is collected mid-visit and there's no bill waiting for you afterward. If your plan covers the visit, we'll tell you your cost-sharing amount when we confirm.
Yes. Orders go out electronically the same day to a lab near you, and you can go for the draw whenever it's convenient — no appointment with us needed first. Results come back to Dr. Edwards and are reviewed with you in a follow-up visit, with an explanation of what they mean and what changes they call for.
Usually. Imaging orders are sent to a center in your area, and the radiologist's report is reviewed with you afterward. Some studies require a hands-on examination before they can be ordered — in those cases you'll be told directly and pointed toward local care, rather than sent for a scan that can't answer the question.
Yes, when it's warranted — with the clinical notes already written so the specialist isn't starting from zero. Where possible she helps identify someone in your network. She'll also tell you honestly when a specialist isn't needed.
Through Spruce, a HIPAA-compliant platform built for clinical messaging — no app required. Text 830-276-2166 or open the portal at spruce.care/dredwards. Refills, records requests and scheduling go there; lab results are reviewed in a visit rather than by message. Please don't send clinical details by social media or ordinary email.
Yes — that's the point. This is a primary care practice, not a one-off urgent care service. New patients are welcome, and Dr. Edwards manages ongoing conditions, coordinates specialists, orders labs, and handles yearly preventive care.
Yes, when it's clinically appropriate. Prescriptions are sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. Controlled substances are prescribed only where medically indicated and in accordance with state and federal requirements — they are not available on request.
Same day, seven days a week, including evening slots. Most new patients are seen within a few hours of booking. If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department — this is not an emergency service.
Yes. Visits run on a HIPAA-compliant platform, and your medical record is kept confidential. Nothing about your care is shared without your authorization, except as required by law.
No. Roughly half of visits are self-pay at the flat $125 rate. Many patients with high-deductible plans prefer it — it's often cheaper than the copay plus two hours of lost work.
